run it thru the garden and garnish with a Bacon Strip
better fry some bacon
Man that's good

Lots of things to cook

Belgium Waffles with Bacon
Lets make the waffle batter
follow the waffle mix directions
with these exceptions
add Cinnamon Sugar to the mix
Use Belgium Ale instead of water
and off course Bacon bits in the mix

Next a Spam and cheese omelet
Yes take the fried Spam with Bacon
Cube it up and put it in the Omelet
You know how to make an Omelet Right
I ate it and took a nap

Enjoy Life-Eat Bacon

More to follow thank you for your patienceBaconhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15408456681213679455noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3392195937362692429.post-82632558657842451262011-09-11T00:15:00.000-07:002011-09-11T00:15:47.394-07:00Let Us PauseOn this solemn day let us take a moment or more to reflect and pray for ourselves and the thousands of souls that were ripped away in a horrific twisted perversion of ideology 10 years ago this very day.

Sadly it is the small minds of zealots that twist words and minds of others for their own power hungry self serving goals. This is the true travesty of our time. This is what is preventing mankind from achieving greatness. These zealots are worst of man and are filled with evil. Tho they may claim to speak the word of their god and have our best interests they twist it for their own perversions. They do us no good only harm.

We must always strive to Think freely, Act justly, and Be true our souls.

May the Lord grant peace to the friends and families of those who were taken.Baconhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15408456681213679455noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3392195937362692429.post-44846757556264768962011-08-28T18:02:00.000-07:002011-08-28T18:14:10.542-07:00What is going ON!!!Ok, So I do a lot of driving for my job.
I have come to terms with people not paying attention because they are
Talking on the phone
Texting
Reading the paper
Even working on there laptop (I couldn't believe it either if I didn't see it)
Never a cop when you need one.

But, I have noticed a new trend
It appears that BMW's, Mercedes' and Jaguar's do NOT have turn singles.
In the past 2 weeks I have counted (once I noticed the trend) 15 times these car owners not using their turn signals. All this in heavy traffic usually cutting someone off.
Since these are imported cars maybe they don't have turn signals.

So the other day I stopped of briefly at a local BMW dealer.
While looking at a car and sitting in it I asked the salesperson "what is this little stick for?"
His reply "Oh that's the turn signal"
I ask "Is that standard or an upgraded option for the car?"
He says "No that's standard on all cars"
I thanked him and went on my errands.

So, In actuality a seemingly large group of BMW's, Mercedes' and Jaguar's owners
are simply...Self-centered, Rude, oblivious to those around them, A,B and C -holes.
I could go on but I'm sure some owners of these cars are actually decent people.

As for the jerks.. I think their sense of self is simple lacking BACON.
BACON, it makes you feel good, It anchors you to the real world.
It calms your soul, and can help you focus on whats really important.
And if you eat bacon while driving it will calm road rage.
I mean really how angry can you be if you eating Bacon.
I do not recommend cooking bacon while driving. Make it at home and take it with you.

I bet you thought I couldn't work bacon into this rant, Did you?Baconhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15408456681213679455noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3392195937362692429.post-5954486080648838262011-08-14T18:43:00.000-07:002011-08-28T18:14:34.052-07:00Summertime Garden GoodnessAhhh summertime
Family, Freinds, and Goodtimes
Gardens and fresh fruit and veg.
They scream for BACON
Lets be honest homegrown or good farm stand tomatoes Scream BLT
Sure, it's a classic and definitely delicious in a pure and simple way.....
But, What if............
We take good Italian bread (Gonnella) sliced a bit thin
and make garlic bread with it...
then put the Bacon on that.........
And used fresh Basil instead of lettuce...
Fresh Tomatoes with a bit of course salt
and Fresh Mozzerlla Cheese with some cracked black pepper
And a hint of balsamic vinegar
Delicioso a GBBMT
(Garlic Bacon Basil Mozzerlla & Tomato)

OK How about some other fun things to add to a Standard BLT
I like thin sliced Onions
Avocado
More Bacon

What do you like to add
Sound Off an what you like
I want to here from you
Thanks and enjoyBaconhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15408456681213679455noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3392195937362692429.post-12114220239696167962011-07-24T17:13:00.000-07:002011-08-14T18:46:41.064-07:00Milwaukee Not Just America's Dairy LandAs with all good things in life sometimes you have to travel.
Brew Pubs, Brewery's, Gastro-Pubs, Purveyors of Porky Goodness and Such.
Always worth the trip.
Remember life is a journey....NO not the band Journey...Like walking a path to enlightenment.
You can't get to enlightenment without BACON.
So while on a recent trip (See Pub Crawl) with a great friend to the Cream city (2 rashers of bacon to the first person who can tell me why Milwaukee is called that)
We started at the Milwaukee Brewing Co. http://milwaukeebrewingco.com/ Very good beer, good food, very nice staff and the locals were super helpful.
Remeber always chat up the locals for the very best a town has to offer.
We were searching for a gastro-brewpub in the neighborhood and could not find it.
But with some help we were on our way.

Welcome to the Hinterland http://www.hinterlandbeer.com/
And yes if your anywhere near Milwaukee you have to go there.
We get there as they are opening and sit at the bar.
Dan the bartender was very knowledgeable about there beer and food.
Which is very good with a good selection of solidly made beer.
OK just for the record I am a home brewer and my friend was a Professional Brewer.
NO not the baseball team...making beer...the elixir of gods.
I will leave the serious beer critiques to him. Back to the porky goodness.
Hinterland's menu changes daily.
Which gave us some concern because we heard they had PORK BELLY & Pigs Cheek.
Spoiler yes we were able to get both.
We started with Pork Rillette.

"Rillettes is a preparation of meat similar to pâté.

DELI COUS, WOW, You have to try this.

Next, we had a Homemade Smoked Hungarian Sausage with Potato Hash.
We added Bacon as garnish to this dish. Highly recommended.

<img border="0" height="150" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg5WD5-hCd6ocjTEiYKTLGY51GLnbgtP-y4oXcQxRtQSm17E3VSUw9KOzs0qF4JlcIQeNepMbSyFZ0P1PFPt8HSfHZdMF8T8YotxgAHNDke_UecsGeKHxq_KhzsGWHtGVHEjgsceSASz-WR/s200/DSC03259.JPG" t$="true" width="200" />
This too was Awesome... and surprise of surprises there was Pork belly in the hash.
Seriously Good eating. We could have eaten 2 or 3 of these they were so good.
And yes he cures and smokes his own bacon...Delicate and tender with gentle tones of smoke... a true delight.

At this point we meet the chef as he comes to the bar.
Chef Dan Van Rite, who, no offence bears a slight resemblence to Chuck Norris.
We are talking all thing Smoking and bacon ......

He then send out a Homemade Brined / Pickled Sausage
Dining at Lonestar Steakhouse and it came to my attention
That the only steak with BACON is the Fillet Mignon
now why is only the 6oz fillet wrapped in bacon
Really I could eat two of those.
Why not wrap the Rib eye or T-bone in bacon
Why discriminate against the bigger steak. and bigger steak eater
Hey we love bacon.
So I challenge every steak joint to put bacon on the bigger steaks
Hey if you cant figure it out you know I will............

For the record the steak I had was wonderfully, the service was great and
I did have the White Cheddar Mac & Cheese with bacon ....Delicious!Baconhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15408456681213679455noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3392195937362692429.post-27332641380433394202011-06-29T19:56:00.000-07:002011-06-29T19:56:19.877-07:00A new Burger for the HolidayRecipe time again
OK gang get your cardiologist on the speed dial your gonna need it.
I saw elements of this burger on several Foodie Shows and thought
good but not quite there. So I combined them.

Best as a homemade burger but store bought would be OK in a pinch
combine 80/20 Ground Beef with Ground Italian Sausage
Your favorite seasoning or dry rub
I Like GrillDaddy's Double Secreket BBQ Rub and Seasoning.
form it into a patty slightly larger than the bun.
Better get a decent bun while your shopping
also get some frozen Onion Rings "big ones" or make your own
Mushrooms, Bacon "of course", Cheese, Eggs and don't forget the milk
You don't need the milk for this but hey if you shopping don't you always need milk.

Fry some bacon to for a snack and the burger and saute the mushrooms in then drippins
make or cook the Onion Rings
fry or poach 1 egg per burger
Cook the burger

Combine as follows
Bun, Condiments(mayo, mustard, ketchup),Bacon, Burger, Cheese, Bacon, 1 largest Onion Ring.
Fill Onion Ring with Mushroom, Cheese, Fried Egg, Cheese, Bacon, 1 Lettuce Leaf, Bun
OK if your chest is already getting tight you can omit 2 layers of Cheese and 1 layer of Bacon

Serve with cold beer and choice of Cholestoral drugs Lipitor, Vytorin, Creator what ever works for you.
You could serve this with Fries or Slaw or Patotoe salad but I am sure just this burger will fill you up.

Here is were I need your help. What do we call this monster???
Post your suggestions and we will vote after the holiday.
And yes I did make and eat this burger.....then I took a nap.Baconhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15408456681213679455noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3392195937362692429.post-24101514943846809092011-06-09T17:23:00.000-07:002011-06-09T17:23:59.854-07:00An Odd ExperienceRecently while hosting some overnight guests
I cam in contact with VEGETARIANS .......
They are not unlike Zombies except your are totally safe
Really, they don't eat meat or brains but your garden is in trouble...
So, since at a party the next day it was requested that I bring Meat Candy
I then proceeded to make Meat Candy in the presences of the dreaded Vegetarians
Not that are likely to nibble on the treats unlike us carnivores
Yet Only one succumbed to the sweet smokey porky goodness that is BACON
Odd the rest were not tempted, very ODD
This will require additional study
Remember eat Bacon it is DeliciousBaconhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15408456681213679455noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3392195937362692429.post-12263416719853513252011-05-31T19:55:00.000-07:002011-06-09T16:37:50.810-07:00Texas Tommy, Wisconsin Willy & South Side SalvatoreSo your wondering.... What?
No it is not a title for a movie about 3 guys traveling cross country eating bacon and drinking beer....
We will save that for later.

Welcome to my first recipe post.
It all started with a friend and myself talking about Bacon dishes we had as children.
My mom use to take hot dogs, cut a slit down them, stuff that with cheese, wrap it in Bacon
put it in the bun and then into the oven for 20 min. So as a kid Hot dogs are fantastic but wrapped in Bacon we were living the good life.
My friend replies " Oh those are Texas Tommy's"
My answer "That's a way better name than Hot dogs with cheese wrapped in Bacon"
And so the birth of the Texas Tommy. But, I as i begin to think ... I can do better than hot dogs...

Wisconsin Willy
Cook up some Brats with Onions & Beer
If using Thick Cut Bacon, cook it a bit to get if past raw.
If regular no need to pre-cook the Bacon
While waiting for the Brats to cool after cooking
Take the Brat Buns and spread Garlic Spread / Butter on both sides.
Then cut a slit down the Brat and insert the Cheese.
Wrap with Bacon, stuff that in the Bun.
Top with the grilled Onions. Put them in a pan or cookie sheet in a 350degree oven for 20 min
Then top with more cheese and back in for 2 or 3 min for the cheese to melt.
Enjoy the Bacony Goodness.

South Side Salvatore
Pretty much the same only you are going to use...
Italian sausage, Provalone, Motzzerrella, Fontinia or Italian cheese of choice.
No Onions, but use more Garlic.
And Roasted Red Pepper
And a nice Italian roll.

This only the begining. What combos do you have????
Photos to follow later.Baconhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15408456681213679455noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3392195937362692429.post-28339892404152274482011-05-30T07:22:00.000-07:002011-05-30T07:25:12.621-07:00On this Memorial Day.
We Thank You.
For Everything.

This blog is titled The Bacon Manifesto
It is not the first
The first was by Nathaniel Bacon in 1676 of Virginia, part of the British colonies.
Also know as the Bacon Rebellion, it predated the Declaration of Independence by 100 years. It focused on high taxes, restraint of trade & security..
Sadly, it led to an Indian massacre, The recall of the appointed Governor & Mr Nathaniel Bacon's death.
If you wish to know more about this moment in American history just Google it...

This Bacon Manifesto will be significantly less political.
It will focus on the power of Bacon for Good.
Its impact on society, fun stuff,
And of course delicious Bacon recipes.
